In that time, Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. The tempter came to him and said, "If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread." But Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'"

"Madonna dell'Unione" Monastery?

The word “Unione” evokes the thought of the “Unity” of Christians, of Blessed Maria Gabriella dell’Unità. Referring to this Monastery,
It wants to indicate a more fundamental and current reality:

A bit of history...

The Trappist Order originated in the Cistercian monastery of La Trappe, France. On the Mount of Montecassino, Benedict composed his Rule around 540. Drawing on previous rules, especially those of St. John Cassian and St. Basil, but also St. Pachomius, St. Caesarius, and the Anonymous of the Regula Magistri with whom he had close relations during the drafting of the Benedictine Rule, he combined insistence on good discipline with respect for human personality and individual capabilities, with the intention of founding a "school of the Lord's service, in which we hope not to ordain anything harsh or rigorous."

The “Word” understood as Christian teaching has among its main purposes that of creating a true “user’s manual” for daily life, with the ultimate goal of preparing us for a very important event, from which none of us is exempt: Death.
